One initiative.
A whole story.

The story of Modas Laura is the story of Vilma Corella Artavia and an idea that went much further than expected.

The first step

From a few samples
to stores nationwide.

While passing a Más por Menos supermarket and looking at some dresses, Vilma thought she could improve the way they were made. She prepared her own samples and presented them to Corporación de Supermercados Unidos, then known as CSU.

She expected an order for the Cuesta de Moras store. To her surprise, the dresses were requested for Más por Menos stores throughout the country. Her initiative opened a much bigger opportunity than she had imagined.

The beginning · Since 1974

Dresses and uniforms

School uniforms for girls and boys joined the dresses. Clothing production opened the way to new collections.

02
New collections

From clothing to the home

Over time, pot holders and butcher’s aprons followed: other ways to be part of everyday life.

03
Part of our identity

The baby and children’s collection

Crib sheets with two pillowcases, small pillows and different styles of pillowcase expanded the collection. There was also a larger pillow for children, separate from the small baby pillows.

04
Today

A new stitch

Today we focus on pillows with pillowcases, simple pillows and pillowcases for large pillows, in white and other colours. After moving from manual methods to technology-assisted processes, we are excited to take the next step into the digital world.
